Meet the Photographer

Hi, I’m Maree, I’m a photographer based on the South Coast of NSW.  In the late 80s I saw my first whale & at that time I had a little film camera which was not big enough to get close to them and knew that overtime a bigger lens was needed to get closer to the whales from the shore line & be able to capture photos of the beautiful marine mammals.

As my young family grew, so did the size of the lens. My photography skills progressed over the years and I now concentrate on marine mammals, nature & landscape photography.

I have also ventured to Drone Photography & use my Canon 5D Mark IV with a variety of lens sizes, introducing a 150-600mm lens, for capturing marine mammals & to participate in Marin Mammal Research.

Photographic Equipment

My photographic equipment includes the Canon 5D Mark IV camera.  I use Canon 70-200mm EF 2.8 & Sigma 150-600mm for nature shots, Canon 24-105mm EF 1:4 for landscapes, Canon Macro Lens 100mm and Samyang 14mm for Astro photography.  I also use Nisi filters. Drone Photography is DJI Mavic Air 2.
